Hello and happy new year,

I set up a meta-search engine based on searx(https://github.com/asciimoo/searx).

http://ransack.i2p

or

http://mqamk4cfykdvhw5kjez2gnvse56gmnqxn7vkvvbu...

This is a "meta" search engine, aggregating results from other search providers such as Google, Bing, DuckDuckGo, Wikipedia, etc. You may choose search engines you want to use from "preferences" at the upper-right corner.

One of the engines is my legwork.i2p, so you can get search results from both I2P eepsites and clearnet sites at once. It means you might access clearnet sites without anonymization. BEWARE!!! I2P Orchid plugin will be fixed soon, it might help you.

As always I prepared this for my research, but you are more than welcome to use it. Please let me know if you experience any problem (I should say searx's YaCy support is kludgy, I'll fix it later).

Features:

* searx-based
* Only accessible via I2P - so you keep being anonymous and this site cannot get any private information
* Search results from I2P eepsites can be provided by legwork.i2p (make sure "legwork" is enabled in "preferences" -> "engines")
* Support multiple languages

Enjoy!

Sites registered on stats.i2p must meet the ToS. For search engines, while it's not explicit, that would require filtering for bad content. Your legwork.i2p registration slipped through before I asked; when i did ask, you said not only did you not have any filtering, you hadn't even considered the issue. Not sure if that's still true. I'm going to remove ransack.i2p until you confirm that it does have filtering implemented.

ransack.i2p (actually searx) has safe-search feature (None, Moderate, Strict). You can find it in preferences. However, it basically means searx tries to set "safesearch" flags if the external search providers support them. Many image searches (such as Google Images) support safesearch, but most of text searches don't have it (for profanity, etc.) If users of ransack.i2p choose to use search engines which don't support safesearch, there's nothing I can do. I'm not sure what kind of "safety" is needed.

legwork.i2p (actually YaCy) doesn't have safesearch support at all. I still think ex ante warning and ex post removal/blacklisting should be enough (and clearly states so in the legwork.i2p ToS). Not only search engines but also any UGC sites (forums, etc.) can be abused at one point, but it won't be big problem if they can be swiftly deleted and banned (and so written in ToS). Isn't it enough?

BTW, this is one reason I set up ransack.i2p -- it can use the results from legwork.i2p, but the image search is deliberately killed. So legwork.i2p via ransack.i2p might be a bit "safer" than using legwork.i2p directly. But I've never encountered any really bad contents via legwork.i2p anyway.

Based on additional discussion, I've restored the entry for ransack.i2p in the stats.i2p subscription service and it's now live.

Thanks zzz!

I updated ransack.i2p based on new searx 1.5.0. The sanitizer proxy is less kludgy, too.
